Initially boilermaker and cycling contestant, Serge Mannheim then decided to build his own bike, under the guidance of Mr Limongi, a parisian artisan. The latter soon after encouraged him to start manufacturing handmade bicyles: Cycles Mannheim is born!
The first few productions were sports oriented, but quicly, touring cyclists became the most faithful customers, as well as the best flagships for the brand.
Even though they started in 1984 with the manufacturing, Cycles Mannheim would later expand to the complete bicyles trade. Randonneur, touring, and sportive bikes are still the main selling points of the brand. The steel frame manufacturing is essentially elaborated from Columbus tubing joined together using fillet-brazing. Most of the racks are also internally produced. Serge Mannheim is now getting close to retirement, he is therefore training his employee so that he keeps sustaining the brand.
